. According to multiple news outlets, the incident is said to have taken place at Charlotte’s Room, a pub located downtown on King Street W.
“James was having a casual get-together with the producers of his movie and, as he later learned when speaking with the staff, there was a man who drank too much who was getting escorted out. James’s back was to him and the man just punched him,” a source close to McAvoy told People magazine.
The incident was reportedly unprovoked as the 46-year-old had never interacted with the man before,
reports. Other people at the bar are reported to have intervened and tried to restrain the man, who was then asked to leave and escorted out.
