Local history buffs race to save centuries-old log cabin north of Toronto from demolition

Andrew Lenkov, who moved into a home beside the Sand Road lot about two years ago, first heard about the old cabin from local seniors. He has led the drive to have the site protected from development.

Councillors and local history buffs in the Town of East Gwillimbury, north of Toronto, are scrambling to protect a historic log cabin and First Nations settlement from the threat of demolition. But they may be running out of time.
