As Alberta’s population booms, report suggests Medicine Hat could fall behind

A mural on a dark green wall states in stylized red, black and white lettering that "the Hat" was established in Mediciine Hat. A downtown street shows older buildings and antique lamposts.

The city of Medicine Hat is one of few Alberta cities forecast for stagnant growth over the next 25 years as the rest of the province is expected to swell by two million more residents. Local officials are looking to draw new businesses and residents but experts say that will be a challenge.
